Who We Are, Why We Exist

What is the Nancy Rhodes Creek Neighborhood Association and why does it exist?

The Nancy Rhodes Creek Neighborhood Association was established in 1993 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization to manage and maintain a series of easements along Nancy Rhodes Creek in northwest Durham, North Carolina. The easements were created to protect this important wildlife corridor which connects to major conservation lands, City of Durham parks and green spaces, and surrounding neighborhoods. The area plays a critical role in water quality, habitat preservation, and stormwater management within the community and supports species such as deer, muskrats, raccoons, foxes, otters, and owls.

Governance & Leadership

The NRCNA is led by 4 to 15 Board of Directors who are elected annually. Officers include President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Board members oversee policy-making, budget management, and organizational leadership.
